Mark Nixon


Mark Nixon
is a writer who dwells by a graveyard in County Durham.

He is a hopeless romantic who nevertheless finds inspiration in the ghastly, the ghoulish and the macabre. Mark originally began posting ghost stories online, an endeavour which lead to the foundation of Shadows at the Door Publishing. In 2016 Mark co-edited and ‘Shadows at the Door: An Anthology’.

He has written extensively in the audio drama format, appearing on such podcasts as the NoSleep Podcast, The Lift and his own Shadows at the Door: The Podcast. Through all this, Mark quickly established himself as a champion of ‘quiet horror’ and offers distinctive, drama driven narratives within pleasing terrors. He writes at home in the dark, usually with a cup of Earl Grey to hand.

He has two twin daughters, neither of whom are evil.

Nelson W. Pyles is the author of several short stories as well as the critically acclaimed novel Demons, Dolls, & Milkshakes. He is the creator, and former host of The Wicked Library prior to turning the show over to 9th Story Studios. He remained involved for seasons 6 – 10 as an executive producer and voice of The Librarian, but both Pyles and The Librarian officially retired from the show in 2021 to peruse other endeavors.

Chuck Rackiecz

Chuck Rakiecz is the original “Analog Man,” a self-described semi-technophobe who pines for the pre-social media days of yore. He is a retired model builder for the museum exhibit and industrial display industry. Chuck lives in Pittsburgh, PA with his wife, Sue, and their feisty tabby cat, Misty.

In addition to his membership in Pennwriters, Chuck is also a life member of the nationally known, Western Pennsylvania Model Railroad Museum. He developed the concept and preliminary plans for the museum’s fictional, Mon-Valley System,” a 4,000sq. ft. model railroad display, featured on WQED TV and national hobby magazines.

Chuck is currently working on a time travel murder mystery novel, “POINT IN TIME,” and acts as Coordinator for the Pittsburgh East Writers critique group.

Brooke Warra grew up and developed a deep fascination with the macabre in a fishing village in the Pacific Northwest with her very Finnish family. Her work can be found in various horror magazines such as Under The Bed and Sanitarium.

Her most recent story, “The Twisted End of Vernon Boggs,” appears in the anthology A Shadow of Autumn. She writes and lives with her two children near Phoenix, Arizona.

Lee Forman

Lee Forman is a fiction writer and editor from the Hudson Valley, NY. His fascination with the macabre began in childhood, watching old movies and reading everything he could get his hands on. He’s a third generation horror fanatic, starting with his grandfather who was a fan of the classic Hollywood Monsters.

Austin Muratori

Austin Muratori is a Writer, Filmmaker, Photographer, Musician and cancer survivor from a small town in Michigan. He is an avid reader who also happens to have an addiction to movies and junk food, especially Coca-Cola. He writes poetry, novels, short stories and screenplays of various genres his favorite being Horror/Suspense. Austin is constantly exploring new formats and genres in an effort to grow as a writer. He has had works featured in Sanitarium Magazine, Blood Moon Rising Magazine and various other publications.

As far as film goes Austin has been making films since he was 11 years old. He recently graduated valedictorian from Full Sail University with a 4.0 GPA! Some of his recent projects include a film titled, The End of the Tour starring Jessie Eisenberg and Jason Segel. His senior thesis film titled, Results received quite a bit of success. Another project he recently worked on is a feature horror film titled Moorland, which premiered in 2014 with great success. Currently, he is writing and producing the second season of a very popular show called, Surviving The Undead.

Austin is currently working on a few different projects. He is working on a short story called “Bleed” about a man who has an obsession with blood. He is also working on a short story and poem anthology along with a few different screenplays. There is a novel in the works as well.

Cynthia Lowman likes her name but goes by Cindy.

She is mostly a writer, narrator, and sometimes a web designer in South Carolina. She is editing her first novel and hopes to defy the odds by getting it published.

She writes short stories, some of which have been featured on 9th Story Studios podcasts The Lift and The Wicked Library. Cindy is a member of Pennwriters as well as two writing groups that she expects to help make her famous. Cindy made her first foray into the world of audiobook narration in the audio edition of an anthology from Shadows at the Door, edited by Mark Nixon.
